Die Bedeutung von 'Bleuel'

Meyers Konversations-Lexikon, 5. Auflage, 1895:

The meaning of 'Bleuel'

Meyers encyclopedia, 5th Edition, 1895: Bleuel (of the old-German word bliuwen, "strike"), a wooden schlaegel ("stick, clubs") for cleaning the laundry, for the handling of the flax and hemp etc.

In todays encyclopedias there is often only the term of the Pleuelstange ("connecting rod"). e.g. Dtv-Lexikon 1999: Pleuelstange [to bleuen "strike"]

Meine Vorfahren der Bleuel-Linie stammen ab ca. 1650 aus Werlau bei St. Goar am Rhein zwischen Koblenz und Mainz. Weitere Details werden hier bald folgen. My Roots came from about 1650 out of Werlau near St. Goar on the Rhine-River between Koblenz and Mainz in Germany. Further details will come soon.

The WorldGenWeb Project was created in 1996 by Dale Schneider in an effort to answer the growing needs of genealogists world-wide who were trying to research their ancestors online. Dale's original goal (as is ours today!) was to have every country in the world represented by an online website and hosted by researchers who either live in their own country or who are familiar with their country's resources.

The Global Tree project: The Global Tree is an ambitious project to build a searchable database of genealogical data. Our project is different from other "world" tree type web sites because we allow you to interact with your data and with other genealogists in new ways. GenCircles was founded on the principle that community is what makes genealogy work. When you upload your genealogy to GenCircles, users can post messages on the individuals in your file. This offers an unprecedented level of interaction between you, your data, and other genealogists. This interaction leads to better connections, more accurate data, and a tighter-knit "circle" between all genealogists.
